I got a reactivation required notice. Nothing to hide, so I said O.K.
It was a near instantaneous event, a few measly seconds, and I got the
O.K. to continue boot-up as "now reactivated". Bull Frockies!!
The curious thing was .. I was not even online. No connect to my router,
ot even with a modem line hooked up to the wall. It was me and my
computer only. Microsoft had no way of checking anything .. unless
there was something onboard that did a double-take, and then uttered ..
'oh, never mind, just some added memory and another drive or two, and
you excised MSIE and OEX, plus you manually cleaned out your registry
rather stringently."
I don't doubt something might be detected, but why now? It has never
done this before in decades of switching around stuff, imaging and
replacements, registry cleanouts, drive changes. And, how is it possible
that everything was "checked out, found OK, and green light given" with
no call home?
Now I wonder if some smart-ass has dealt me a joke, or planted a bomb.
Can't find anything in my list of fileage and changes made, or chksums.
