If it's the one and only disc, may be just a bad disc. Several older
discs turning problematic on newer equipment, or several of newer
discs turning problematic on older drives -- laser firmware and disc
dye mismatches may be at work. Also, brandnames -- when dealing in
+RW DVDs I buy Ridata and when I can't Maxell. Settled down from a
dollar now to a few years past for around 50-cent discs, I've several
hundred that are holding up for recycling burns from NEC burners to
now LG units. There's group forums that also go exhaustively into
related issues as well as address factory disc ID codes.
